DDR offers thousands of miles of SONET-based network facilities. A Synchronous Optical NETwork is a fiber-optic transmission system for high-speed digital traffic using self-healing ring architecture that is able to reroute traffic to a second transmission route in the event one fails.
DWDM
DDR provides Dense Wavelength Division Multiplexing (DWDM). DWDM uses multiple light wavelengths to transmit data from different sources together on a single optical fiber. IP, SONET and ATM data can all travel at the same time over the same optical fiber. DWDM is expected to become the main technology of all-fiber optical networks of the future.
Monitored and Managed
DDR's Network Operating Center runs seamlessly 24-hours a day, seven days a week. Our fully-trained staff of network specialists coupled with state-of-the-art software ensure continuous, proactive monitoring and management of the entire network. Our fault management system allows for faster alarm identification and problem resolution, and we can diagnose and solve a problem or potential problem within minutes.
If a field dispatch is required, our experienced technicians are strategically located to respond quickly to equipment problems. These are the same technicians who perform physical cross-connections during circuit provisioning and turn-up.
